Our raw, Elk Bones are an assortment of marrow bones, (femurs, ribs and knuckles). Not only are wild bones a far safer choice since they are three times more dense than beef bones, but they’re ideal for your dog since they are a great source of naturally occurring omega fatty acids. Even though they are far less likely to fracture or splinter than other bones, we highly suggest that your dog be monitored while consuming them. Feeding your dog wild elk bones as a treat will limit exposure to the growth hormones and antibiotics that are present today in most farm-raised products.
The bones vary in weight and size.
Average Size/Weight:
Small Femurs
6" - 8" long and weigh approximately 0.5 lb each.
Long Femurs
10" - 12" long and weigh approximately 0.75 lb to 1 lb each
Medium Knuckles
5" - 7" in diameter and weigh approximately 0.75 lb to 1.5 lbs each
Large Knuckles
8" - 10" in diameter and weigh approximately 2 lbs to 3 lbs each
